ZOMBIE WALK INFECTS FIRST FRIDAY

Zombie Bride and Groom to marry; Undead Minister officiates
Phoenix Comicon and International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival celebrate the undead
Phoenix - Zombies will be lurching and walking the streets all the while moaning “braaaains” during The Zombie Walk on Friday October 5th.

A Zombie Walk is a gathering of fans who dress up as zombies and then walk through city streets and sidewalks. Participants are encouraged to stay in character as Zombies, through how they walk as well as how they communicate.
The Zombie Walk will be held Friday October 5th coinciding with the First Friday Art Walk.
The Zombie Walk is being organized by the Phoenix Comicon and the International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival.
Participants will meet at the Phoenix Comicon Art Studio at 7:30 PM on Friday October 5th with the Zombie Walk commencing at 8 PM. The studio is located in the Anti-Space collection of galleries at the SW corner of 4th Street and McKinley in Phoenix.

“In October the heart of the valley goes dark. We’re here to celebrate those things that hide in the shadows,” says Brian Pulido, Festival Director and co-founder of the International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival.
Immediately prior to the Zombie Walk, the Arizona chapter of the Ghostbusters will walk the route asking about reports of a Zombie infestation and offering tips on how to survive a zombie attack.
Following the Zombie Walk, two Zombies, in a wedding gown and tux, will renew their marriage vows in the Zombie Wedding, officiated by an Undead Minister, with brain cake offered for the zombie participants.
“It is time for Zombies to have their day in the sun. Or night in the moonlight,” says Amy Black, Zombie Walk Coordinator and Director of Operations for the Phoenix Comicon.
